Actually we have a couple of new gallery locations!
1st off, FIRECRACKER has a new permanent exhibit at Espresso Royale Coffee shop located at 650 State Street, Madison WI. Just two blocks from campus, this cafe is a coffee house institution in Madison. Resting in the hub of campus life has definitely helped this State Street cafe to become "The"coffee house for University of Wisconsin students. Of the 2 locations, this is the one nearest library Mall, furthest from the Capitol building. This exhibit will feature an assortment of works from local artists and will be "refreshed" the first Sat. of every month. Special thanks goes out to liz tymus for helping us set this up. Please stop by to admire the work and enjoy some tasty coffee beverages... and, of course, everything is for sale!
O.K. Besides Espresso Royale, We will also be exhibiting at Mercury
Restaurant Lounge, located at 117 E. Mifflin Street, Madison WI. The
Mercury, which specializes in Greek food as well as an array of soups and
sandwiches, also serves as a venue for dj's, bands and stage antics.
FIRECRACKER will be exhibiting here on a bi-monthly basis. These exhibits
will showcase the works of 1-5 artists with a focus on one feature artist
per opening. These openings will take place on the second Sat. of every
other month and will feature live music and/or DJ's. The First one will be
held on May 10th (that's next weekend silly!)at 7pm, so be there to let
the Mercury know that this is a worthwhile endeavor for them as well as
us. We would especially like to see any past and present FIRECRACKER
exhibitors to provide them with info on our plans for the future but would
love to see anyone and everyone who can make it. Don't forget: Mercury has
great drinks and fantastic food so come thirsty, hungry, or both! Once
again, EVERYTHING will be for sale!
Finally. FIRECRACKER now has a merchandise outlet!
Madcity Music Exchange, 600 Williamson Street, Madison WI, has graciously allowed us to sell posters and assorted other merchandise (ashtrays, coasters, stickers, shirts, etc...) through their store. They were voted "Best Place for Vinyl" in the 2007 Isthmus magazine's readers poll and carry a large selection of new and used CDs and LPs, hard to find DVDs and a general selection of stuff you aint gonna find anywhere else! Store hours: Mon thru Fri 11 a.m.-7p.m., Sat. 10a.m.- 5p.m., Sun. noon-5p.m. Go check out our new merch as well as peruse their killer selection of new and used cd's & lp's...and talk to Mr. Zero about his love of modern pop/country. Believe me, there is nothing else he'd rather do. |
